Stillwater Statement of Faith
Grasp International Inc. Stillwater Retreat acknowledges the Bible as its supreme authority in matters of faith and practice. The Corporation’s Statement of Faith is necessary for the fulfillment of its purposes. The Corporation accomplishes its business and objectives in accordance with the following doctrinal beliefs:
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired and the only infallible authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30, 37, 38)
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in His Miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; Hebrews 4:15, 7:25, 9:12; John 2:11, 11:25; Colossians 1:13-14; Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16)
  • We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for his salvation. (Romans 3:19, 23; John 3:16-19, 5:25; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5, 6)
  • We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Ephesians 4:30, 5:18; I Corinthians 3:16, 6:9-20)
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They who are saved unto eternal life and they who are lost unto eternal damnation. (John 5:28-29)
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28)
  • We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God. (Genesis 1:26-27, 5:1-2)
  • We believe that marriage is a biblical institution established by God as clearly described in the scriptures. This Organization recognizes marriage exclusively as the legal union of one man and one woman in a lifetime covenant. The Bible teaches that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. (Gen. 2:21-25), (Matt. 19:4-6)

Statement on Marriage and Sexuality

  1. The Corporation adopts the traditional definition of marriage with the term “marriage” having only one meaning – that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as described in the Holy Bible – Matthew 19:4-6 (KJV):
  2. “4 And he answered and said unto them, have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, for this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
  3. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Corporation as a Christ-centered ministry, and to provide a biblical role model to the Corporation’s members, guests and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the Corporation in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, or who participate in the Corporation’s activities, abide by and agree to this Statement on Marriage.
  4. No Director, officer, employee, member or any person under the direction or control of the Corporation shall commit any act, or permit the Corporation’s facilities, assets or property of any kind to be used in a manner that would be inconsistent with the Corporation’s definition of marriage.
